Bit by bit

Michael McDonald never said it so sweetly.... "bit by bit by bit by bit...."

And as the world turns, we bite into it bit by delicious bit. Savoring the taste of hardwork.. bitter yet filling. Sometimes, the taste is sweat-salty. Sometimes, sweet-salty. Depends on the circumstance really.

This painstakingly slow process is what our sages ordered us to do. Climb the slow ladder to success. Rung by rung. Grip by grip. Keeping in mind an adage from a well-known writer, "Where you are headed is more important than how fast you are going." Quite a number of such can be invoked to remind us of the values of patience and perseverance, actually. But let us content ourselves with the simple fact that building our future starts with the baby steps that we take.

Bit by bit.

Step by step.

Then, we're there.

Though, I know... we'll keep on going.
