Ups and downs...
I somehow heard it whisper to me... "Stories to tell, young man... I have got stories to tell... even lessons to share".
Lucban Church, a year ago (2003), was where, and when, I took this picture. Always fascinated by old structures, I never resisted the quiet urge to take this snapshot of an ancient wall that surrounded an equally ancient church, especially after contriving to hear murmurs coming from a wall. It has always been like that. I am always consumed by a feeling of admiration and of awe in the fact that they have lasted this long and that they have been witnesses to history and even to the smaller events such as a father tying the shoelace of his son in front of the huge church door. Such consumption leads me to fits of daydreaming about those times, the concoction of endless permutations of possible occurrences and end-results in my Life if I had lived then.
How was it like before? Would I have survived given my abilities? Would I have been richer at my present age? What kind of profession would I have engaged in?
Or, to muse about how certain problems and concerns can best be solved by just looking around, especially at these relics of time. If something could have lasted that long, there are stories, I am sure, worth listening to and learning from.
But not many people are like me who stop and try to imagine about the stories, and, quite possibly, pieces of advice, these earthen fences have got to tell and give.
Most, nowadays, fail to appreciate the little things like the mob of moss that congregate at the base of the 3rd pillar of this structure.
Or understand the possible hidden message behind every inconspicuous detail like "two little girls standing in front of the padlocked iron gate..."
Or see through the swarm of meaning of a prose by reading between the lines.
And ask the question, why is this blog entitled "Kinse-Kinse"??
What most see are stone fences which have peaks and valleys... it's already a give away, but they still don't get it.
